1965 Land Rover Series IIA

1965 Land Rover Series IIA

Introduced in 1961, the Series IIA models were strictly evolutions of the Series II. The 88-inch Series IIA were available with either the 2.25 litre petrol engine first seen in the Series II, or with a new diesel engine enlarged to 2.25 litres from the 2 litre Series II. The final examples had an all-synchromeshed gearbox. This example, built in 1965, incorporated a number of prototype components, such as uprated windscreen wipers, inertia reel seatbelts and a more luxurious fabric interior. GXC is owned by Jaguar Land Rover Classic and forms part of the JLR Heritage vehicle collection. (source Land Rover)
